Olliphant would not I give credit to the reviewers that the lenses are not actually used to compare, or just one of them is used. The two bought Tamron 18-270 and Sigma and used them for one week in Mexico. We have a Nikon D70s and D300, lenses and exchanged a few shots at the same time and place. We are about 75% raw and analyzed the major cultures of the images contained in our "Apple Cinema Display 30 before and after correction with Photoshop Here's our opinion:. The Tamron is much sharper Sigma is very smooth, except for low- medium zoom range, and.'s even softer than the Tamron on the best track. The greater the deformation of the Tamron is much less visible and easy to fix with software. CA is about the same for both. stabilizer was clearly more effective with the Tamron, especially at the end of long, where you really need. The Tamron is noticeably slower in focusing than the Sigma, which is very fast for this class of lens, but Tamron has often been more accurate, and we missed several shots because Sigma inhibited and not focusing at all. More than 5% of the shoots we did with Sigma was considerably out of focus, but few in Tamron. With super-zoom, choose the weak points in less discomfort. It is a neighbor, but the decision pretty easy. Although sometimes annoying to use, we got the pictures, obviously better with the Tamron. We both agree to go back to Sigma. 143 of 150 people found this review helpful. Excellent target ... By Ghassan Bedaywi fact, my review is somewhat similar to the previous review by W. Cooper. I, as he did not have many resources about this lens but got confused between the Tamron and Nikon long lenses, I would go with Nikon 18-200mm, because I feel that Tamron 18-270mm Lens didn 't really good reviews, and I did not like the fact that it'm slowly into focus, and boy am glad that I waited on this one. I think I play (as an early adopter) and it worked. It's really quite a big lens, which is exactly what I am (I hate to change lenses) are looking for. The best part is that it is actually quite fast in focus at 250mm, maybe even faster than my D90 kit lens, Nikon 18-105mm. It really is a HSM lens, which I saw a couple of threads in forums ppl discuss about this fact, assured that it has an engine. The operating system is as it should be at maximum zoom, and to work, so no problems here. I use it just to be fair for a few days, but I am very excited about it and about the quality of the pictures I have so far. I am for a full test in the coming days, if I were not perfect, things I feel will update this review, I have not noticed a lens creep (another) but it is definitely a lock switch on the lens, this It works only if the target is 18mm. I noticed that when you shoot close-ups try to 250mm, the lens used to focus properly when you are on the subject in the vicinity, manual focus is still working well and that a picture clear and sharp. The brand of the lens and the body is beautiful and durable so that it does not feel at all well. Ultimately, I must say that this baby will clap from Tamron 18-270mm lens, and certainly the Nikon 18-200 If you want a longer zoom. And the price is acceptable and in any case. Update: I guess I was wrong to close discussion focuses quickly and well enough at close range, while at maximum zoom. Update 2: I have some photos in Picasa, plz see the comments for the link. The pictures do not look good after uploading to Amazon Update 3: I have my first statement confirming that it can not auto focus on short distance (according to my tests) I would have to use manual focus. To return to the autofocus would work, it seems that a reset from time to time needs! Update 4: It weighs approx.
