Landry I hesitated buying this lens for my Nikon D40x - probably in that capacity six or seven looked before they buy. Frankly, I was worried about how it is cheap. Now I'm probably very average amateur photographer, that the majority of my images are of the family: children's sporting events, holidays, birthdays, etc.. But that does not mean I'm ready for the quality to save a little money, compromise, and I know that the Nikon 55-200 is an objective quality. But I bought on the review Michael Del Priore base (his was the only critical at the time) - I thought (especially compared with the Nikon 55-200) at this price, why not give it a shot, and I'm glad that I did. This is an excellent goal. AF motor is not chew quickly and the battery (I was worried about it, but I played shot nearly 170 pictures on my son for two Saturdays, and no longer use the battery as the Nikon 35-70 lens supplied with camera) Like "cinderoo" I have no stability problems talk to one of the two also broke during the following 12-year-old boy run the length of a field. This may be more of a problem with macro photography, but I want most of the (admittedly limited) macro photography I'd probably still with a tripod could have imagined. Well, no I'd be shot for a professional photographer, but I can tell you that when I pull up photos with my D40x and Sigma lens on my 24 "iMac and put it in full screen, they are * all * I was looking for if I SLR decided to move. 104 of 107 people found the following review helpful. telephoto and macro lens for Nikon D40 D40x D60 .. .. CA Gaunt I bought Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 6 DG Macro lens for my Nikon D40.the lens has a built-in motor allows autofocus with the Nikon D40 very well .. D40X and D60 .. I shoot mostly landscapes, animals, birds and flowers and has some very nice pictures with this 70-300mm telephoto and macro lens. This lens has no image stabilization, but with the lens without a tripod does not seem too much of a problem because I have not moved much photos .. The lens is very affordable for the amateur photographer .. I got some of my recent photos I took with this lens, which is published on the Amazon list of my review. The lens comes directly 47th Street Photo and was received in two days. I highly recommend the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro Lens. 69 of 70 people found the following review helpful. Unbelievable bargain! By Dave I wanted a cheap telephoto lens for those times that I must achieve. Since I do not use it so often, I did not need a large or expensive lens. I debated between this lens, Tamron 70-300 Di, and Sigma APO of the same type, this was the cheapest so I went with it. Honestly, I can not believe how good this lens is its price. A 70mm is tack sharp corner to corner. 200-300 is also pretty good. And macro mode is just icing on the cake - 1: 2 magnification means you can get close enough. It's true, you need a reasonable amount of light for this purpose to shine - no argument there. But for the individual who does these things just for fun, this goal hard to beat. I can not imagine APO version is $ 70 more - I can not find any difference from the sample images posted online. So if you only need a lens focal length with this from time to time, this one to get.
