Landry I hesitated buying this lens for my Nikon D40X - probably looked at this property six or seven times before you buy. Honestly I was worried about how it is inexpensive. Now, I'm probably average amateur photographer since most of my pictures are things of the family: children's sporting events, parties, birthdays, etc.. But this does not mean I'm willing to compromise on quality to save some money, and I know that the Nikon 55-200 is an objective quality. But I bought it based on the review Michael Del Priore (his was the only critic at the time) - I thought at that price (especially compared with the Nikon 55-200), why not give it a shot, and I 'm happy done. This is an excellent achievement. AF motor is fast and not chewing the battery (which was concerned about it, but I shot about 170 pictures in game two Saturdays ago my son and do not use a battery more than the Nikon 35-70 lens that came with the camera) as "cinderoo" I have not had any problems to speak of a stabilization of the two, even take pictures while children 12 years of a field. They may be more of a problem with macro photography, but I imagine that most of the image (albeit limited) macro that I would probably stand still. Now, no one would confuse with a professional photographer, but I can tell you that when I get pictures taken with my D40X and this Sigma lens on my 24 "iMac and full-screen mode to * everything I was looking for when they decided to move to an SLR camera . 102 of 105 people found the following review helpful. super-telephoto and macro lenses for Nikon D40 D60 D40X .. .. For CA Gaunt bought Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 6 DG Macro lens for my Nikon D40.the is equipped with an autofocus motor and very good with D40 Nikon D60 and D40X .. .. Shot mostly landscapes, animals, birds, flowers and took some pictures with this beautiful 70-300mm telephoto lens and Macro. This lens is not image stabilization, with the 'goal without a tripod does not seem to be much of a problem because I have not had many blurred pictures .. The goal is very reasonably priced for the amateur photographer .. I shared some of my recent photo, which I did with this lens, which is published on this site with my Amazon review. The goal sent instantly 47th Street Photo and was received in two days. I highly recommend the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro. 68 of 69 people found this review helpful. Incredible bargain! With Dave I wanted a cheap telephoto lens for those times I need to accomplish. Since I do not use it often, I felt no need for a lens with a large or expensive. I was torn between this objective, the Tamron 70-300 Di, Sigma APO and the same type, as this was cheaper, so I went with him. Frankly, I can not believe how well this goal is its price. At 70 mm, is very sharp corner to corner. Even 200-300 is very good. And the macro mode is just the icing on the cake - 1: 2 expansion means that it can get very close. True, it takes a good amount of light to shine this goal - no argument. But for the guy who just this sort of thing for fun, this goal is hard to beat. I can not imagine the APO version is $ 70 more - I can not detect any difference in sample images available online. So if you only need a lens of this focal length from time to time, this is the only one to get. See all 247 customer reviews ....
