I am a previous owner D200, but I really like the D300. I still have a lot to try to do with it. I love my custom configuration for landscapes with bright colors and jewelry, but I always forget to re-set to normal when I take pictures of people. I have not used the video as much as I want. A draw back I could not edit the video with my Sony Vegas Movie editing software, although it may have an earlier version of the software. Has anyone been able to do so? The Nikon 18-200mm is best done. Extremely versatile and can be the target you will ever need. I like the new clamping system. 25 of 27 people found this review helpful. No Regrets by Bilal Mirza, I am short and sweet, and my review will include scrutiny of the 18-200 VR II, which came with the kit as D300S Pros: Dual-Slot: For me this was crucial in deciding which camera to buy, because I shoot weddings ... and there is no way to create the original magic of the moment again, if your card is not the wrong time. A CF slot, UDMA cards and SD slot supports. Handling high ISO: I shot this thing to 1600 ISO with little or no noticeable noise. There is a noise reduction setting, which I never use, but have heard good things about. Range: 800-900 shoots blowing slightly by the laws of the charge as the commander of my flash: The Nikon CLS allows the device to transmit signals to my SB-600 flash weather resistant: The body is built like a tank and all the nooks and crannies are sealed in video mode: yawning, I'll never use, but it's there when you need it. Live View: This can be useful at times 18-200 lens: this lens is a great walk-around lens and actually quite compact when you consider how flexible your focal range VR is fantastic, and the lens at f8 shoots very nice of the entire focal length . -------------------------- Disadvantages: Honestly, I do not think it's the best camera I ever owned and a complete bargain! -------------------------------------------------- -------- 15 of 15 people found the following review helpful. NICE camera! Marc Ruby ™ Nikon I have owned almost since they first were available here, and I was always satisfied with the performance of their cameras. But it is the first time I am excited about yet. I switched from using the old N90s a D90 two years ago and while I wanted the camera, I was in the amount of plastic in what was, after all, a $ 1000 body. I also found the controls a bit hard to get along with - I'm not a fan of spending lots of time scrolling through menus. D300s came out when I had the opportunity to buy one and proved to be a reaction to my complaints about the D90 new camera is magnesium. This is 8 ounces heavier than the D90 it balances better with the heavy lens I usually use 2.8. In fact I had a brief period of frantic reading manuals when I started using D300s. Nikon has moved the controls around, so the menu you need to jump less often, and it is a blessing. It makes about a million focus and metering options - While normally stick to on-site assessment camera offers some 51 points that can be used singly or in groups. By comparing images of the D90, I would say that there is a marked improvement in the images, although it is thin. And there is more internal processing capabilities. Another interesting feature is that the camera takes two memory cards. This is really how much you can take a 12 megapixel camera. Although the Nikon prices here a semi-pro camera quality of the picture response to most photographers' needs for some time on one day come to the Nikon D700 to improve and I will change, but until then I am happy with D300s ( as fact, it's been two D300s s).
